Saturday 16th January 2021.

My 1st update of this new year is a sad one.At the beginning of this week I was notified by Sylvia Hipkin that Brian had passed away suddenly on New Years Eve he had a heart attack and did not suffer.He and Sylvia had been part of the group since the early days and although they travelled in from Eastbourne by public transport there were not many meetings or events that they missed.A few years ago Brian took part in the accupuncture sessions in a trial run by Richard Simcock and he wanted to let Richard and yourselves know that he had started to get his saliva back and was not having to carry his bottle of water about and was sleeping better at night. (I have passed this info onto Richard).Apart from sending our condolences to Sylvia we have also sent her some flowers on behalf of the group. He will be sorely missed by us all RIP Brian.

With the ongoing Coronavirus epedemic situation a reminder that the meeting due next Friday 19th February at The Horizon Centre has been CANCELLED. In it’s place we are going to run a ZOOM virtual meeting. The one we held in December was good we hope a few more of you will attend this one.I will send an email with the details of how to join in,it is so easy to do.

The minutes / notes from the last meeting held on 21st February 2020 are now on the Previous Meeting page.

Points of interest:

In late 2021 we will be celebrating 10 years as a support group an idea started by Jo(Kerr) and Pat(Shields) in 2011 still provides a service to anybody affected by Head & Neck Cancer whether as a patient or as a carer or family member.We would like to do something for our 10th birthday so any ideas would be welcome.We will work on this during 2021 starting in February at out 1st “meeting” of the new year.

Friday 19th February 2021 — Our next meeting/ get together will be a virtual get together using ZOOM time tbc.
